The RPL is a rappel and progress-capture plate designed for use with high-strength skinny ropes. Limited to 6mm rope, it features several use modes: single and double line rappel, “guide mode” with single or double lines, and progress capture from the harness as a component for crevasse and freehanging self-rescue .
Offered for now in 6061-T6 corrosion-resistant aluminum, anodized in high-viz bright violet, it’s sure to pop on the harness as well as in the snow. Designed, tested, machined and anodized in the USA, it’s the next big thing in gear minimization. Girth-hitch it to the harness with an 8″ Seamless sling (coming really soon) to prevent dropping and eliminate a carabiner in self-rescue mode.
